# 110 roleplay ideas with roles and an opening line

Roleplay ideas in 11 genres, from fantasy to heist. Each names your role, theirs and the first line, and opens as a full scenario in one click.

Published October 25, 2026 · prices as of October 27, 2026

These roleplay ideas are 110 premises in 11 genres, written for this page. Each one names the role you play, the role the other side plays, and the line that opens the scene. Under every idea, Build this scenario opens the [AI scenario generator](https://uncensoredllm.ai/tools/ai-scenario-generator) with the premise already in the box.

Press send there and an uncensored model writes the setting, the characters, a Scenario paragraph and the first message, ready to paste into SillyTavern, Janitor AI or any chat client. Or play the premise as a text roleplay with a friend. Every character is an adult.

## How to use these roleplay ideas

1. Pick a premise and change what you like: names, era, who plays whom.
2. Click Build this scenario. The generator opens with the premise typed into its box. Nothing is sent until you press send.
3. Send it. The model returns a title, the setting, each character with one want or secret, a Scenario paragraph addressed to you, the first message and three hooks. The first 2 scenarios on a browser are free.
4. Paste the parts into your client. SillyTavern keeps the Scenario field under Advanced Definitions and describes it as the circumstances and context of the dialogue ([character design docs](https://docs.sillytavern.app/usage/core-concepts/characterdesign/), read October 25, 2026). The first message goes in First Message.

With a human partner, the You and Them lines work as two character sheets. Whoever plays Them posts the opening line, and the scene starts from there.

## What makes a roleplay premise work

Every premise on this page follows the same four rules. Use them to write your own.

- **A job for you.** A customs officer, a clerk, a mechanic. The job gives you something to do in every reply and a reason to stay in the scene.
- **A goal for them.** The scene moves when the other character has a goal: a signature, a seed, a confession, a vote.
- **Trouble in motion.** The debt is due, the groom is gone, the trucks are dead. Skip the setup and open after the trouble begins.
- **An opening that asks.** The first line ends on a question or a demand. SillyTavern's docs say a model picks up the style and length of the first message more than anything else (read October 25, 2026), so the opening line sets the voice of the whole chat.

Write two or three openings for the same premise if you can. The [Character Card V2 spec](https://github.com/malfoyslastname/character-card-spec-v2/blob/main/spec_v2.md) has an alternate_greetings field, and front-ends that follow it show each one as a swipe on the first message (read October 25, 2026).

## Run the scenario with an uncensored model

The generator writes the scenario. Playing it out takes a chat front-end and a model behind it. Our guide to [Character AI alternatives](https://uncensoredllm.ai/blog/character-ai-alternatives) compares the hosted apps with a front-end you control on your own key. On the second route, these guides connect a front-end to an uncensored model in a few fields:

- [HammerAI in Proxy mode](https://uncensoredllm.ai/guides/hammerai-proxy), with no GPU.
- [RisuAI with a custom API](https://uncensoredllm.ai/guides/risuai-custom-api).
- [KoboldAI Lite in the browser](https://uncensoredllm.ai/guides/koboldai-lite-custom-api).
- [Agnai on an OpenAI-compatible endpoint](https://uncensoredllm.ai/guides/agnai-proxy).
- [Xoul AI on its Generic provider](https://uncensoredllm.ai/guides/xoul-ai-proxy).
- [Novelcrafter](https://uncensoredllm.ai/guides/novelcrafter-custom-api), for a premise that turns into a novel.
- [SillyTavern with an uncensored API](https://uncensoredllm.ai/guides/sillytavern).
- [Janitor AI on a proxy URL](https://uncensoredllm.ai/guides/janitor-ai).
- Any other client: the base URL, key and model id are in the [client setup docs](https://uncensoredllm.ai/docs).

An abliterated or uncensored build has had its refusals removed, so the horror premise stays frightening and the villain stays in character. The catalog lists 69 roleplay tunes among its uncensored builds on 2026-10-27; every one is on the [models page](https://uncensoredllm.ai/models) with its live price.

### What a roleplay message costs

Three roleplay tunes, read from the live catalog as this page renders.

| Model | Build | Input $/M | Output $/M |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Cydonia 24B v4.3](https://uncensoredllm.ai/models/cydonia-24b-v4.3) cydonia-24b-v4.3 | Roleplay | $0.484 | $0.60 |
| [Gemma 4 31B Novelist](https://uncensoredllm.ai/models/gemma-4-31b-novelist) gemma-4-31b-novelist | Roleplay | $0.35 | $1.575 |
| [Euryale 70B v2.2](https://uncensoredllm.ai/models/euryale-70b-v2.2) euryale-70b-v2.2 | Roleplay | $1.224 | $1.428 |

Prices per million tokens, read from the live catalog on 2026-10-27.

One message here is 1,500 input tokens (the scenario, the character and the recent history a front-end resends every turn) and 250 output tokens back. The figures below are computed from the rates above at render time.

| Model | Daily check | Per message | 100 messages |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Cydonia 24B v4.3](https://uncensoredllm.ai/models/cydonia-24b-v4.3) | Steady since Oct 20 | $0.0009 | $0.09 |
| [Gemma 4 31B Novelist](https://uncensoredllm.ai/models/gemma-4-31b-novelist) | Steady since Oct 20 | $0.0009 | $0.09 |
| [Euryale 70B v2.2](https://uncensoredllm.ai/models/euryale-70b-v2.2) | Steady since Oct 24 | $0.0022 | $0.22 |

At this size, 100 messages cost between $0.09 and $0.22 on these three builds, priced on 2026-10-27. The balance is prepaid and bills per token, with no subscription.

The [daily real-model check](https://uncensoredllm.ai/proof) sends one fixed prompt to every model each day and records whether the answer still matches. On October 27, 2026 it found 291 of 302 models stable.

## Questions

### What are the best RP ideas?

The ones where both sides want something and the trouble has already started. A debt to a witch, a toll paid in stories and a juror who knows the defendant all hand you a goal and the other character a lever. Pick one, change the names, and open with the other character's line.

### What are some good topics for roleplay?

Topics that put two people in one room with a conflict: a negotiation, an interrogation, a rescue, a secret coming out, a job going wrong. The genre is the wrapper around it. This page has 110 premises across 11 genres, from fantasy and sci-fi to workplace drama and heists.

### What are some good roleplay roles to play?

Roles with a job and a weakness: the knight escorting a prisoner, the customs officer who can be talked round, the clerk sent to count dragons. The job gives you something to do in every reply, and the weakness gives the other character something to push on. Swap the You and Them lines on any premise to play the other side.

### What are some good themes for roleplays?

A theme is the question under the plot: loyalty, debt, trust, power, survival, a second chance. A heist tests trust, a post-apocalyptic trade tests scarcity, a fake engagement tests honesty. Pick the theme first, then a premise in any genre that puts it under pressure.

### How do you start a text roleplay?

Agree on a premise and who plays whom, then one side posts the opening line. Every idea above has both roles and a first line, so you can paste one into a chat and begin. For an AI partner, the generator turns the same premise into a scenario and a first message for SillyTavern or Janitor AI. See the AI scenario generator.
